Teenager Ellie struggles to connect with her emotionally distant father Simon who has raised her alone since her mother died in childbirth. Ryan Case, the Emmy-winning editor and director, has been set to make her feature directorial debut on the 20th Century Fox comedy Fire Me. Red Hour Films and Erica Steinberg are producing, and Jeremy Kramer is overseeing for Fox. Pic is inspired by the Libby Malin novel about two best friends and work colleagues. It has a 9 To 5 tone, and the studio will now set a writer with whom Case will work
